Admit it. We all wanna look like these guys.

DECKED out in full US military Special Forces garb and proudly wearing an American flag patch, this guy walking is obviously not a JOLOG player.

He doesn’t have the height of a foreigner, though; and that brown complexion is a dead give away tsk…tsk…

This patch is ok–if you’re American.

Anyway, as he passes me, he pauses, regards me with a disdainful look, and mutters under his breath: “jo-log…” He then casually goes on his way.

In my hazy understanding of that tagalog slang word, I just knew he didn’t mean it in a nice way. There were many things I could have said about his sense of PATRIOTISM, though. (Actually, I couldn’t get that picture of an American flag patch on a pinoy wanna-be soldier out of my head until now.)

Anyway, what gives if I’m wearing shorts and running shoes? If I’m going to be doing a lot of running, I might as well wear the right outfit, right?

Besides, we’re not at some gray urban jungle where that expensive BDU would blend in. We’re just here at home base on a weekend. And here’s news for you—No one’s watching!

But don’t get me wrong, I do agree 100% that teams should be in uniform during tournaments. However, insisting on those jungle fatigues or desert BDUs do not help to give you that blend-into-the-background advantage. It’s CQB behind plywood covers, dude.

That beautiful contractor look. (And she got the patch right.)

And I guess this explains the growing preference for the Security Contractor Look.

Filipino Airsofters, I believe, have become increasingly conscious about dressing and appearing like soldiers of foreign countries.

The contractor look just fits us perfectly. Nationality is not announced by this outfit, except for the patches. And that can easily be remedied.

Pinoys can hide their cute noses and round eyes behind a mask all day long, but uniforms don’t hide height or color. So, might as well give the I-wanna-look-like-Uncle-Sam’s-soldier-boy attitude a rest.

To be a Filipino airsofter, look like one.

Ethnic look, anyone?
